Children's Faith Formation Programs

Religious Education classes for students in grades K-5 will be held two to three times per month from September through May.  Classes are held on Sundays from 8:50-9:50. Registration can be completed online.  Printed copies of registration forms are available in the parish office.

Our Religious Education program has been organized using Standards of Learning for Religious Education.  The students will be learning the following information:

Kindergarten:  Introduction to Jesus, the Mass, the Commandments, and the Bible as the Word of God, using Loyola Press', Christ Our Life

1st Grade:  Bible Stories, the Commandments, prayers and the Rosary, using Loyola Press', Finding God

2nd Grade:  First Reconciliation, using Ignatius Press' Jesus Our Life

3rd Grade:  First Communion and Confirmation, using Sophia Press' Spirit of Truth Sacramental Prep program.  The third graders will also be learning about many Catholic Saints, which will help our students choose their Confirmation Saints.

4th Grade:  Old Testament, using God's Plan in Scripture by Ascension Press

5th Grade: New Testament, using God's Plan in Scripture by Ascension Press

For information on Sacramental Preparation and schedule, click here. Children typically receive the sacrament of First Reconciliation in second grade and the sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion in third grade. Arrangements will be made for older children in need of sacramental formation. Please contact Louise Hickey for more information.
